Thanks Doodle Pantry

Today will be my last post as an official member of the creative team for Doodle Pantry where I have had the pleasure of being part of one of the best design teams since September 2011. I decided to step down this term and try some new things but I will always be a customer of Laurie's beautiful images. She creates beautiful designs and with each set you get loads of images for such a great price. Please check out the store if this is a new place to you.

For my card I am using the newly colored version of the older set "Daffodil and Sweet Pea Plus which you can find here . It also includes the outlines if you love to color yourself. I have used a piece of the digital paper behind the lattice that I created in my Silhouette Cameo, later fussy cutting the flowers and using foam dots to raise them and the sentiment.

Here is another of my favorite sets from Laurie.... Christ's Gift which I colored but if you love the pre colored images, you might want to watch for the release on the first (shh, you didn't hear anything here!)

I added some of the new tulips from the set Tall Tulip around the base of the cross with a bit of flowersoft. I love the way this turned out.

Thanks to all of the team and Laurie for making my year and a half at Doodle Pantry the very best.
I will missing working with you but I will still be around.
hugs to you all....................

Cutting it Close

Whew, this is cutting it close for this week's challenge at Word Art Wednesday . I so enjoy their challenges and the beautiful word art that they share each week. You may use this in your creation or any other uplifting sentiment or verse. This time I did use this beautiful verse from 1 John 4:7 encouraging us to remember that God is love and to love one another.

I added some of my favorite Memory Box Minuet papers along with the color version of the cattail pond and cattails to enhance my verse. The pond is from Doodle Pantry and can be found here.

Be sure to take a look and play along with them soon.

Week #2 at Beccy's Place

Have you seen all of the fun things going on this month at Beccy's Place ? She is having challenges, free art work, daily winners and much more. This is my card for week #2's challenge--all white card.

I must admit this is a challenge to me in more than one ways than one, with the card itself and then trying to photo it. I apologize for my photo as they never seem to turn out very well and with the rain, fog and cloudy skies we are having today it was next to impossible.

I have used a Tim Holtz embossing folder "Frames and Florals" to emboss my card, adding Sizzix leaves and a flower all using Stampin' Up's whisper white card stock. I added some craft ribbon and GinaK Designs buttons to dress it up a bit. Here is a flat picture so that you can see the dimension a little better.

Be sure and stop by to visit with Beccy and join in all of her birthday bash fun!

A Favorite Bible Verse

I made this card for the challenge this week at Word Art Wednesday . They share a wonderful word art with everyone each week that you can use in their anything goes challenge or you may use an uplifting or encouraging sentiment of your own choice.  I love using their free art but this week I
decided to use one of my very favorite Bible verses which to me has always been a promise from God that I rely on. It reminds me that no matter what may come, He has me in His hands.

My verse is from a set that I recently got from Daydream Designs and you can find the bundle by clicking here . I also used a free cut file with this swirl frame and backing mat from Bird at Birds Cards and this one is for an A2 card. She is very generous with her work and I know you will love her blog, so please check both of these links for some great products.

I used DCWV's Mariposa mat stacks, I love the butterflies on the top cut in this neutral palette. I used the matching tan for my backing cut. My beautiful verse, a sheer ribbon in ivory and a couple of butterflies in the same paper and I was done.

Thanks for taking a look at my card today and I wish you a wonderful start to your week.

Seize the Birthday Sketch #5

I am having a blast playing along with the sketch challenges at Seize the Birthday ! Every two weeks, a new sketch goes up with a card for week 1 being created with a feminine flair and week 2, masculine. A great way to grow your birthday card stash with no effort.

For my feminine card this week, I used a cut file that I picked up a while back and hadn't used as yet....love this flower pot! the leaves and part of the flowers are an insert.

My silhouette stamp and sentiments are from Stampin' Up's set "Vintage Labels" and"Just Believe". I also stamped the centers of the flowers with Distress Inks Worn Lipstick and a stamp from "Vintage Vogue".  I used the brick embossing folder sponged with rusty hinge and a white ink to create my cloudy sky.

I hope you will check out this great new blog and their fun challenges. I would also like to thank the team for choosing my card last week for "Birthday Honors".

Have a great day....

Feathers and Fur....

Welcome to the weekend....this week at Sugar Creek Hollow we are featuring the theme "Feathers and Fur" asking you to create a card or project in a vintage/shabby chic style using either some type of bird or animal.

I love my card this week as I am a big fan of gingham...country girl at heart. I am so thankful to Lilac and Lavender for offering these as a freebie. They offer gorgeous vintage images if you are looking for a great spot to go browsing. I used the main image and tags featuring the rooster.
My papers are from Samantha Walkers digital set "Honey" featuring the Golden Sunlight set.

The tags come with a sentiment and set of six but I cut out three and distressed these as well as the layers with vintage photo ink.
Hope you can join in with us this week. We love to visit with you and see your creations.

Stay safe and enjoy your weekend. I will keep those in the path of the storm in my prayers.

Entered in the following challenges:

Muse Challenge #3

I am excited to again be playing at the Muse Card Club for their Challenge #3 using this beautiful card by Laurie Willison as our inspiration point!

                                           IMG_9768_edited-1

If you haven't seen this new take on challenges, please stop by and take a look!

Here are the simple rules:

Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to Muse
Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member's submissions
Vote for 3 of your fellow member's submissions that you find inspiring.

I was inspired by the beautiful vines and flowers  and the two background panels as well as the large flower and gorgeous orange color.

I  switched the floral paper to my background letting it peek through my cut vines
which were cut with the Cameo. I sponged Tim Holtz distress inks in rusty hinge
and spiced marmalade on a dictionary page afterward die cutting it with
Spellbinders carnation collection dies.

Hope you take time to check this out, I know you will love it!

CAS(E) This Sketch #13

How can such a simple card be so difficult???

One layer, two inks and a few stamps and five tries to get it right!

One time I stamped the heart in my black ink instead of red, the reason I usually
don't like to have two colors open,  a smudge with that same
black ink on another and a couple that I simply wasn't happy with the layout.

But it is finally done!

I used this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch
Hope you can take a look at this fun challenge blog.

Card Details:
Paper: Stampin' Up whisper white
Ink: Stampin' Up real red, Versafine onyx black
Stamps: Stampin' Up Simply Said and Sprinkles
Bling-Want2Scrap, ribbon from my stash, foam dots

Sail Away....

I am joining in again for Sketch #4 at Seize the Birthday  which is masculine!

If you haven't seen my previous posts where I have joined in, the premise is to
create birthday cards with the sketch changing every two weeks.
Creating a feminine card with the sketch week one and masculine
the next week. What a wonderful way to grow your stash of cards.

I have recently picked up some of Samantha Walker's digital papers the "Honey Collection" and used
the color palette Morning Dew printing the ship from "Old Ship" at Doodle Pantry directly on
to one of these and coloring with Tim Holtz distress inks.

I layered the striped paper on whisper white with a base of close to cocoa
card stock from Stampin' Up.

I created my own sentiment on the computer coloring the font to match my papers.

The challenge is open until Tuesday at Noon, so why don't you jump
over and take a look around and join in the fun.

smacks of romance!  We want to see vintage/shabby chic cards with a romantic
flair-can be a valentine if you so desire.

I had a ball designing this card using several freebies from the creative and talented

Oh, I forgot, I placed the swirl frame over a gorgeous piece of free patterned music paper that

Release Day at Doodle Pantry...

February 1st and that means it is release day at Doodle Pantry where I have used the new set "Old Parchment" which you can find here .  It makes beautiful wanted posters with your western themes, backgrounds for your cards or whatever your creative minds cooks up.

I have combined it with the set Patriotic Eagle   . I also cut an additional parchment ( traced and cut with my Cameo) which I distressed and stamped with a script stamp and rolled as an embellishment.

Here I have used one of my all time favorite Doodle Pantry sets Holy Land Flowers 3 which  is part of 3 different flower sets from the Holy Land. Check them all out.

Be sure and stop by the store where you can see all of the new sets being released, the specials and
check out the links to all of the inspirational cards created by the team.

Our challenge will start today at Noon---don't miss it!
