Vintage Children from TLC

Yeah, it is Saturday and that means time for the next challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow   #18 Vintage Children- with our sponsor this week Create with TLC . If you don't know about TLC and Paulette, please don't wait to stop by. She has the most wonderful images and sets in her store and is super generous with her freebies. She has supplied the team with our images this week and I had the pleasure of working with "Candy Anyone".

While browsing Pinterest one day (and I will admit that I am hooked) I came across the pin for a card made with tags which you can find the blog and tutorial here .
I loved making this....I created my tags using scraps from K&Co ancestry.com papers, I used border punches to create some interest. I then glued these 3 tags to a premade card which I then trimmed to fit the tags. I also cut the front of the card at the bottom of the tags , adding another border from the paper which I had punched using one of the same border punches used on the tags so that you could see it when the card was closed. I colored my lovely image and fussy cut her out so that I could pop her up on the front of the card.
Do you like my faux frame I made with the rectangle dies? I layered it with a flower on another circle die.

I made another tag with the scraps to use on the inside!

Thanks Paulette for sponsoring us this week and I know you will want to join us since she is giving away to our winner a $10 gift certificate to her store.
Be sure to visit SCH and see what the rest of my team has created using her images this week, and then I hope you will join us!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend planned.
Happy Day!

Love that Kraft!

I have been wanting to create something using this fabulous tree image that I got at Shoregirl's Creations when she posted these as a Father's Day freebie! I just love trees and she has used these in several different ways, so be sure and check this out and give her some love for being so generous. You will love her blog!

I used this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

and I am also posting this to the Kraft Journal where this week "Anything Goes", just use Kraft!

I created a get well card with Gina K Designs "Versatile Verses" set. Loving the CAS simplicity of this sketch and will definitely be using it again soon.

Hope you are getting ready for a fabulous weekend, I have an open house tomorrow at a local shop that sells some of my cards. It will be a scorcher here in Virginia so my main goal is to stay cool!

Happy Day!

Doodle Pantry Sympathy Card

Good afternoon, I am sharing a card that I made for friends of ours that just lost his Mom to a severe stroke. Her health had been failing and she suffered the stroke after a bad case of pneumonia. She is with Christ and at peace, I hope this card will let them know that we care and are there for them.

I used the new set released this month from Doodle Pantry  "Sea Shells". The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and oms with sponging using distress inks.

I also want to show you another card using the set "Jug and Bucket" and "Scarlet Paintbrush" both of which are new releases this month.

I love when you plant with the bucket or pot overturned, so that is what I did with my card. I used the pine pattern to color my bucket in Gimp and then layered several of the scarlet paintbrush flowers until I got the look that I wanted. This is the colored version of the flower.

We are just days away from our new release at Doodle Pantry and a new challenge starting on July 1st. Be sure and watch for it!
I can't wait to show you what I have made using one of the new sets.

Thanks for the visit and have a blessed day.

Sketch 160/ Bugaboo...

Welcome my friends to this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday  where we are welcoming Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor giving you a chance as our grand prize winner to get 7 digital images valued at $21 from their wonderful store.

I am a huge fan of Bugaboo images and they also have a great challenge blog, so be sure to check them out if you haven't ever visited.

This week's sketch is such a fun one that I know you will want to play along!

I always hate to gush over my own card, but I must say that I was really pleased with how this turned out and will be proud to give it away.

I love this image "Flower Garden"! I used a card base of Gina K Designs white card stock with Kasercraft Candy Lane dp papers, even the middle strip is from that pad!

It is with a sad heart that I announce that this will be my last post as a member of Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I cannot tell you how wonderful this last year has been for me as a member of this wonderful group. It is full of support, understanding, fun and a fabulously talented group of ladies. The love and friendship that I have enjoyed and added to my life can never be measured.
Thanks guys so much!
I will miss working with you each week, but be sure to know that I will be around.
Love you all!
To the players at SSW, thank you for the support and sweet words that you have shared with me here on my blog and at SSW, I love you all as well and will miss seeing you each week.

Thanks for the visit today and I hope to see you all soon!

Oh, How I love Circles!!!

Yeah, it is Saturday and I am so excited to show you this week's card and tell you about this week's challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow   . We want to see circles, either on your card or as the shape!

I created this for Rick's birthday coming up the first part of August and now to keep it hidden, lol! Do you like my edge treatment, that is the fairly new edgelits and embossing folder from Stampin' Up. This is the second time that I have used them and love the look.  I added circles in the cork, dies , clip and design paper.

I hope you have time to join us this week. The team has created some beautiful cards to inspire you this week, so be sure and stop by Sugar Creek Hollow if you haven't already. There is also a post going live at SCH this morning featuring our own, Renee with a new tutorial teaching us how to go from shiny metal to rusty metal. You won't want to miss that.

We will choose one random winner who will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display.  The Design Team will select their Top Pick and the creator will receive a winner's badge and will be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

Congrats Grad!

Good morning!

Just a reminder, if you haven't joined in yet at the DPDC24 at Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog there is still time! You have until June 24th at 8 pm central time to link your project. All we ask is that you use a Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment) and you can get a free one at the store if you do not already own any or want to try before you buy, then just for playing along, Laurie will send you this month's new set for free:

I used another of this month's new sets to create my card "Fireworks Birdie".
This uses the design paper, sentiment and image that is all included. I colored Birdie with copics and Stampin' Up markers, adding some stardust pen strokes to the fireworks and sapphire gems. I used the PNG image for my Birdie, but to get the frame around the sentiment I used the JPEG file which I just layered onto the design paper. This card went to my great nephew who just graduated high school this year. I am very proud of him and I thought this card made a great graduation card. Need to make some more to celebrate our wonderful country's holiday coming up.

Please stop by at Doodle Pantry and take a look around, you won't find a better value for your stamping dollars.

Play Time....

Happy Father's Day!
If you are lucky enough to still have your Dad with you, I hope that you are enjoying this wonderful day honoring him. Both my father and Rick's have passed away but we are both very lucky to have had wonderful father's that we know loved us so very much. We have beautiful memories of them both.

I am sharing a card today that I made for a couple of challenges, I know, shocked aren't you as I so seldom just create something for fun and to join a challenge that I am not a part of.

I found two that I enjoy playing in every once in awhile and they worked perfectly together. This week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the color palette courtesy of Color Throwdown .

Both of these end tomorrow, Monday June 18th, but if you have some time, maybe you would like to join in.

I am using a couple of new toys for me along with one of my older retired sets from Stampin' Up "Garden Collage".
I recently purchased this Sizzix Paisley Palooza embossing folder and I can see that I will love using it more in the future. I have had this cork from Stampin' Up for a while but just recently pulled it out and gave it a try.
I used the same papers for the inside, simply using a Martha Stewart border punch to give it some extra love.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Card Details:
Paper: SU crumb cake, so saffron, bashful blue and very vanilla
Stamps: Garden Collage and Noteworthy by Stampin' Up
Other: Spellbinders circle dies SU oval and scallop oval punch, Cork by Su, Sizzix embossing folder Paisley Palooza, Martha Stewart punch, SU markers bashful blue and so saffron, Versafine onyx black, Papertrey Ink button, jute

More is Better.....

More is Better, at least as far as cards go this week at Sugar Creek Hollow where the more embellishments the better.

I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend. I am doing an auto post and fingers crossed that it posts....Rick and I are going shooting early this morning as we need to be back in the late afternoon for my great niece's 20th birthday party.
Happy Birthday Katy!

I love my card this week, not because I made it but because of these beautiful papers and die cuts from Colorbok Antique Paperie that I picked up a couple of weeks ago when my niece and I went shopping. I used a paper doily and see the one in the die cuts...it is all one piece, that beautiful yellow rose and doily with the scalloped edges. I added another rose and a flocked bird from the same set.
Adding So Saffron grosgrain ribbon and ruffled Baja Breeze from Stampin' Up and a Making Memories ribbon slide just set it off. I love Verve's bible verse stamps and Psalm 37:4 was my friend that passed away a couple of months ago favorite verse. She always gave God credit and praised him, I know she is sitting in Heaven today.

I decorated the inside with some of the same embellishments.
Hope this encourages you to grab your goodies and get started, we love to see your creations each week at Sugar Creek Hollow.

Happy Day my friends!

Hello Baby....

Welcome, Sugar Creek Hollow   has a fun challenge this week asking us to create at least one design paper on our project and explain how we did it. I have created a background for my vintage baby buggy by masking the image and stamping around it with a script stamp by Hero Arts. I also made embossed papers using the Music and Swiss Dots embossing folders.

The eyelet lace and heart applique are some of my new stash of lace, ribbon and trim. I hope you can see the dimension in my buggy, I fussy cut the eyelet and hood on the buggy and used pop dots to give it some height and then added glitter to the bow and wheels.

I hope you will join us this week and show us how you have created a design paper for your card.

We will choose one random winner who will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display.  The Design Team will select their Top Pick and the creator will receive a winner's badge and will be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

We also have a Guest Designer this week at Sugar Creek Hollow and we hope you will make her welcome!

Saturated Canary at SSW

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday and this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday . We love playing with Arlana's sketches and this week is no different. I had a lot of fun creating with this as my inspiration and I hope you will also.....

We  have the fabulous artist Krista Smith and her store Saturated Canary as our sponsor and this week's grand prize winner will get 2 free digis from her shop. Here is a bit about her,

My name is Krista Smith. I am the artist behind the Etsy shop, Saturated Canary Digis. I began working in the stamping world about a year ago when I was hired to create rubber designs for the sweet Scottish company, Sugar Nellie. They launched my artwork under the name 'Simply Sassy.' I moved into the digital world just this past month (it's been a super busy month, indeed!). And-- I love it!! There is a little more freedom here, as I can create anything that pops into my head:)! I am so humbled by the artistic talent of the girls coloring in my designs-- it is truly an inspiration! Likewise, I am so thankful for the friendships I've made in this wonderful and lovely crafty community! It's been a true delight! I'd love for you to stop by my challenge/inspiration blog,Saturated Canary Challenge and join in the fun...And, while you're there, click over to my personal blog (Saturated Canary) and introduce yourself! I am a bit eclectic and touch on everything from family (I've got me a great one!) to fashion (obsessed!)...Please say 'hi!'...I'd love to be friends!:)

I used her image "Orchard Love" to create my card this week. I printed her on Neenah ivory card stock and again on a piece of My Mind's Eye Portebella Road design paper which I then fussy cut so that I could paper piece her dress. I did color the dp some with Stampin Up baja breeze. A strip of SU ruffled ribbon and a Spellbinders apple die cut along with a pearl top pin and we were finished. I hope you will join us at SSW this week as we love seeing your creations. Please don't forget to leave a comment at SSW to be eligible for the grand prize.
Take care my friends and have a wonderful week.
