One Layer Cards

I am showing you two more cards that I created using Doodle Pantry images. The first is from Christ's Gift . I love the simplicity of this sympathy card. The cross turned out just the way I wanted and I hope you like it also. For my second card, I have used Laurie's Forget me nots which are coming out next month in color, but shh, you didn't hear it from me.

I used Prismacolor pencils and oms to color both of these and simply added some gems to the flower centers. My Friends Forever sentiment is also from the same set, I added a shadow in word before printing out.

For beautiful, simple and quick cards you just can't beat Doodle Pantry. The value and choices in the sets is fabulous and we have a wonderful release starting in the morning....Tuesday May 1st! Be sure and keep an eye out for the goodies on the way.

Thanks for stopping in....happy day!

Doodle Pantry.....

Happy Sunday.....hope your day is going wonderfully! I am still trying to get caught up with having my computer back and my design team obligations. I hate the feeling of  being behind and out of control as I am sure you do.

This is a card that I created a couple of weeks ago and at the time I had a couple of challenges to go with it but alas those have long passed. This uses Laurie's image from Cute Kitten , you can find it through the link and many more wonderful things at Doodle Pantry . The sentiment is also part of the same set. I simply used a base of Stampin' Up so saffron and layered coordinating papers from my scrap folder which I had embossed with a Tim Holtz folder. I angled the papers, used foam dots to pop my image square and added a piece of grosgrain ribbon and I was finished. We used to have a neighborhood cat that looked just like this one, he loved hanging out on our deck and looking in the door at our kitties.

I have a couple of other cards to show you in another post from Doodle Pantry....hope you are looking forward to the new release! It comes out on Tuesday the first of May!

Now if you are browsing and looking for wonderful deals on digital images....take a minute and check out the store at Doodle Pantry.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sketch 151 with Bugaboo

In case you are wondering, I am still not up with my computer. I have figured out that I could copy my picture for Sweet Sketch Wednesday from our team group, but I am unable to load any other pictures or info since I am using the library's computer still. I hope to be able to go back for this post and my Sugar Creek Hollow post and give you some more pictures and info as soon as my computer is back home.

I hope you will stop by SSW and take a look at this week's sketch and go by this week's sponsor Bugaboo and check out their wonderful stamps....I am using Jodie's daughter- Skye's pencil drawing this week "Skye Pencil Pics-Pansies" which you can find  here .
Isn't it beautiful????
I apologize again for such short and uninformative posts and hope to be back to normal soon.
Please join us this week for our challenge as the Grand Prize winner will get 7 of Jodie's beautiful images.....don't forget to leave a comment at SSW to be eligible.

Fancy Folds at Sugar Creek Holllow....

Wow, what a week......
I want to apologize to anyone that has stopped by to see my card for this week at Sugar Creek Hollow.....I am still waiting on my computer to be repaired and it looks as if it may be Wednesday now before I have it back and that is said with fingers crossed and a big prayer. I have a memory part that went bad and the repair shop did not carry that particular one for my computer. Even though I cannot really afford it , we may be computer shopping soon for a second laptop as this past month of problems is way too much stress! I will admit that I am addicted to spending time on the internet and with all of you and I miss you so much.

I am on the local library's computer at the moment and of course cannot upload any of my pictures of my card. I am so disappointed as I love this Mother's Day card and wanted to show you the inside of my easel card.

I got the idea after finding these beautiful images at Lilac and Lavender. I hope if you are interested that you will go back to an older post of mine and look up her blog and the papers that I used. I promise to upload and do another post as soon as I can.

I am stripping wall paper from my MIL's bedroom and redecorating it back into a guest room.....will have pictures when finished.

Take care everyone and thanks for understanding......hope to see you soon.

Digi Doodles Shop at SSW!

Hi everyone, I am so excited for this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday , not only is it my turn to host/post at the blog, but we have Digi Doodle Shop as our sponsor this week. After having them as a sponsor sometime last year and discovering their beautiful images, I became a huge fan! I have purchased several of their designs and I always love creating with them. Let me show you a bit about them in their own words:

Digi Doodle Shop

Digi Doodle Shop is the results of a mother and daughter’s love for the arts and crafts. It was started a little over 3 years ago with a little more than 100 stamps, and has since then grown to almost 500 stamps. Joy (the mother of this team) designs realistic images, while Judy (aka/daughter) loves the “fun side of life”, and create images with a cartoon flair. Having these two complimenting styles have enabled

Digi Doodle Shop to offer a wide variety of stamps.

It is a real honor and pleasure to sponsor this challenge, and we look forward to seeing all the amazing creations. We thank the design team for their incredible creations, and wish all the participants the very best of luck in this challenge.

Thank you so much for having us, and again the very best of luck to all of you.

Sincerely,

Judy and Joy

Our Grand Prize winner will get a $10 gift certificate to their store, so be sure and join us this week and after linking your card, please leave a comment on SSW so that your entry is eligible.

A Floral Saturday!!

Happy Saturday....and Happy Easter weekend. I hope you are all enjoying the weekend and you have time to do the things you love the most. Rick and I going clays shooting this morning with some friends, wish me luck!!

It is also time for this week's challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow where we are asking you to create a card in the vintage, shabby chic, primitive style with the idea of floral....however you interpret that, either with your images, added flowers or papers. We cannot wait to see what you come up with.

We will be choosing one random winner who will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. The Design Team will also select one project as Top Pick and the creator will receive a badge to display and will be in the running for our monthly Guest Designer spot.

I have used a bit of floral goodness all over my card. I started with my card base of ivory adding a piece of green paper that was created by Megan at one of my new fave blogs Lilac and Lavender where she is always designing and giving away beautiful vintage and shabby chic digital images. Just last week she offered this adorable girl with her flowers in a wheelbarrow, and not only does she come in this form with journal lines but also without the lines and in tag form. Megan also had scanned a fabric covered book in the green which she also let us us download. I printed it out and used it as my background....distressing and adding a floral image from Stampin' Up's set "Kindness Matters".  I added some Flowersoft to some of her flowers in the wheelbarrow. Can you see where I layered her hat to give it some dimension? The flowers are made using Spellbinders Rose and Carnation Creation dies....after cutting, I sprayed them with water twisting and shaping with my tweezers and left to dry overnight. Then I sponged them with TH distress ink in Peeled Paint. Love how they turned out. My sentiment which I placed with the little girl and her hope butterfly are both from Create with TLC where Paulette always has something wonderful going on.

I tried a new technique for the doily behind my flowers. I used my Martha Stewart corner punch on a circle that I cut with a Spellbinders die. I saw this on Pinterest and thought that I pinned it, but not so. I am sorry that I can't show you a link to this. It was my first attempt and it may not always work out perfectly, but if you have a place that doesn't finish out right, just add an embellishment there
Here is a picture before I added it to my card.

Just line the outermost point of your corner punch on the very edge of your circle and punch, keep sliding to the side and try to pick a point to line up at the edge of your design. Just keep going around the circle and hopefully it will finish up well or pretty close! Clear as mud???

For the inside, I used another image from SU's Kindness Matters and a stamp by Stampendous, this is one of my favorite sentiment stamps.

I had lots of fun creating my card for this week and I can't wait to see what you enter at Sugar Creek Hollow this week.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Challenge -- to use punches/dies

The Shabby Tea Room Homegrown Flowers and inspiration picture

Crafty Friends Challenge where it is their first challenge "Vintage"

Be sure and check out these blogs, lots of wonderful eye candy!

Wishing you all a happy day, be sure to do something this week that makes it special for you and yours!

Sassy Cheryl's at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!

Welcome to another fabulous Wednesday and this week's sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday . We are sponsored this week by Sassy Cheryl's Digis and the Grand Prize winner will win a $5 gift certificate to her shop. Please be sure and leave a comment at the SSW blog to be eligible when you post your card.

Here in her own words is a bit about her and her designs:

Hi everyone! Sassy Cheryl here and I’m so happy to be sponsoring the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week.

I have been creating graphics and have licensed my work to companies such as Kohl's, Hobby Lobby and Shopko, among others, for over eight years. I started creating digital images about twelve years ago. I absolutely LOVE to draw and always carry a small sketchbook for those times when a bit of inspiration hits. It's been a lifelong dream to become a working artist, and besides deadlines, I LOVE everything about what I do! It really helps that I have a very supportive husband and son (they also can be my biggest critics!)

Through the digis I create, I’ve met so many wonderful, talented ladies. The projects they make using my images makes it all worth it. ‘Can’t wait to see what you will create with my Sassy images.

Thanks for playing along this week… happy coloring!

Arlana's sketch:

I loved creating with both this sketch and my fab image "Birdhouses on the Hill" which I colored with both Tim Holtz distress inks and Stampin' Up markers. I used papers from a DCWV scrapbook in a stack book which also supplied my embellishments and sentiment. A piece of scrap ribbon that matched and I was done!!

Stop by the SSW blog and see the great cards using these images from Sassy Cheryl's and then link up your creation for us to see, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!!

Happy Day.....
