Tag Time!!

What a difference a good night's sleep and things running smoother makes in your outlook and attitude. Sorry to be such a downer yesterday....I am having a busy but good day and my creative urges are back. I have been working on some DT projects and can't wait to share. In the meantime I made a tag for  Joan's Gardens this week. I placed an order with Joan and can't wait to get my new goodies.
This tag is made using the DCWV "The Mariposa Matpak" and I am in love with this paper. I added a thank you sticker that I also purchased at JoAnn's the other day in their dollar area. My eyelet is Cropadile and I added some orange DMC thread and tied on a Stampin' Up button. Hope you like it, there are some beautiful tags at Joan's this week. Stop by and get some inspiration.

I have some news to share on Saturday and hope you can stop by then for my post. I can't wait to share with all of you! My friend that you see post on my comments as Anonymous is really Donna and she and I are going to start a scrapbook of her sweet dogs tomorrow, so I am looking forward to that...looks like a great weekend shaping up. Happy Day!

Joan's Gardens Butterfly

Hey everyone, having one of those days that everything that can go wrong is....ever have one of those? Been trying to catch up from our few days away, sometimes I am not sure it is worth it.lol This is the card that I created for Joan and her challenge this week to:
Use the colors Peach and blue (teal)
Use some Butterflies
Add something Frilly
at Joan's Gardens .
Rick and I were in Winston-Salem the other week for lunch (using a gift card we got as a gift) and I ran into JoAnn's and found this paper on sale by DCWV The Mariposa matpak and I fell in love. I wish that I was as happy with my card, but I am not. Not quite what I envisioned, but I will post anyway. I also picked up a couple of packs of little clear stamps there by Studio 112 and this butterfly was in one of them. I like it and the way it stamped. I also took a picture of the another one of the sets that I got and stamped the inside of my card with.

Hope your day is better than mine, and looking forward to a good one tomorrow. Take care and see you soon.

Sewing and Masculine

Do these two things go together? They do in my card for the Sensational Stitching challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow . As many of you know, I don't sew, not even on cards so I had to do some creative stitching for this, I reverted back to my cross stitching days and then did a little hand stitching on the "Vintage Balloon" image by SCH. There is some embossed stitching on the bottom of my card from a Cuttlebug border embossing folder. I think the argyle is kind of a masculine look, also. Stop by and play along if you can at Sugar Creek, Tracy is also having a contest where you can help her name a new image and win a digi from the shop. Hope your day has been super ... I went to lunch today with my old gang from my previous job and it was so good to see everyone. Happy Day, all!

Card Details:
Paper: Stampin' Up, GinaK, Colorbok
Ink: Stampin' Up markers
Extras: SU punches, GinaK button, embrodiery floss, Martha Stewart border punch, Cuttlebug Embossing folder

Anything Goes at Sugar Creek Hollow

Believe it or not, I have had this card finished for a couple of days but things have been so hectic I've just not taken time to post. At Sugar Creek Hollow this week they are having a blog hop for the whole week with lots of candy at all of the DT's blogs along with a grand prize at SCH and a freebie which I have used on this card. Please stop by for a visit and a look around, I promise you won't be sorry that you did. The challenge for this week is anything goes...I used Stampin' Up Baja Breeze and some dp by DCWV Linen Closet which if you can't see in my picture has sparkle. I colored the image very simply with Baja Breeze, Blue Bayou and Sahara Sand. My ribbon is sheer ivory threaded through the SU slot punch. My border inside is made with a EK Success punch. I am so in love with this image and I know you will be too! Rick and I are going to get a chance to slip away for a few days later this week while his cousin cares for my MIL, so I won't be around to visit, but I will be back soon to see you. Hope you miss me and have a great week yourselves!!

Vintage Time at Paper Cupcakes

What a great way to start the week....with a vintage card challenge and a freebie, all courtesy of Paper Cupcakes and our lovely Nina May. This week's host is the wonderful Carol West and she chose to have us create something vintage which is probably my favorite style of all.
I used Stampin' Up Mellow Moss as my base adding K&Co design paper and a paper doilie which I stamped with a script stamp by Hero Arts. The coloring on this lovely freebie image "Doodle Flower 4" was done with Stampin' Up markers. Don't you love my flourishes ,pearl heart and flower, which were all a gift from my dear Carol. I colored the flourish with ink and added GinaK pearls. Thanks Carol for a great challenge this week and hope you can stop by, pick up the  image and play along with us. Now, off to see what all of my DT has to show. Have a great start to your week!!

I have had this one for awhile and thought it was past time to use it. As you can see my tools are girly, love those pink gloves to work in the flowers. My tag also uses dp from Memory Box's pack Jubilee. Handmade flowers at Sugar Creek

Talk about being late....this is twice today that I am just getting my cards into a challenge just before closing. I usually have my card for Sugar Creek Hollow in way before this, not even sure why I am so late this week, but I am. I love playing in their challenges each week and this was the week to make handmade flowers for our projects. I used the image "Bee Tile" for the first time, coloring with SU markers and copics. I used a Sizzix impression plate to create an embossed background for the tile. My flower was made by stamping a Hero Arts Manuscript stamp a couple of times on ivory card stock, then punching with a SU scallop punch which I cut every two to three scallops after running through my crimper. My center is a corduroy brad from Stampin' Up.

There is a blog hop at SCH tomorrow and I hope you can stop by. Tracy and the ladies always have such beautiful things and I know you will love it. Hope you all are planning a great weekend. Take care and talk to you soon.

Card Details:
Paper: GinaK chocolate brown, Kraft, Ivory
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia, SU markers, Copics

Good Morning my friends, and I truly mean that as my headache of yesterday has finally left. As I started to check out everyone's blog this morning I saw a speed challenge at Flourishes that ends now in less than an hour. I had just received an order from them, so I quickly threw this card together.
It uses one of my favorite sets, Thank you set #33. I used some of the new paper by Memory Box, Pixie that I had just gotten along with black and white by GinaK designs.
The bling is some that I also just got in my order. I hope you like it. Whew, now to get on with the rest of my chores. Have a great one!!

Angel Caroline

So glad that you could stop by for a visit...and to see my card for the progressive challenge that is ongoing at Designed 2 Delight . We received this sweet image "Angel Caroline" for playing last week. I decided to try something that I had never done before, a step card. I love shutter cards and this is similar to that with the cut and folds. I am not sure that I love my placement of the items, but promise to try again soon. I used Stampin' Up Kiwi Kiss and dp from Memory Box, Minuet as well as some dp from my scrap stash. I used flower, leaf and butterfly dies by Sizzix to create my elements and a die from Clear Dollar Stamps for my sentiment (SU's set Whimsical Words). Stop by and check out Faith and her great images if you have time. Take care and I hope to be by to visit with you soon. I haven't been on the computer much today, as I am having a killer headache. Happy day to all!

Anything But a Card at Card Ideas

At Card Ideas for D2D this week it is anything but a card and something we would give as a Winter or Christmas gift. I decided to make a holiday journal and I know just the person to give this to. I used Faith's image "For the Birds" along with a journal from Michael's craft store. My dp's are from Basic Grey's Jovial pack and I colored him with a combination of Tim Holtz distress inks and Stampin' Up markers. I used Spellbinders Snowflake and Rectangle Scallop dies along with Clear Dollar Stamps dies. The chipboard Merry Christmas and white snowflake are from a pack by Making Memories.

For the inside, I used some of the plaid paper used on the front to create index tags. I left the sections blank as I thought the person receiving it could use each one for her own ideas.....gift lists, card lists, etc.
Stop by and play along if you have a desire to get ahead on gifts for this year. Wishing you a happy day!

Going Monochromatic

Happy Monday!

Do you love monochromatic cards? Then we have the challenge for you this week at Paper Cupcakes where
our host this week is the wonderful Katrina Benton. For those of you not familiar with this type of card...monochromatic: one color with variations of that same color from light to dark.

My image is Nina's "Moss Topped Birdhouse", isn't it adorable? My dp is Memory Box's Minuet. The Flowersoft on top and at the base was so easy and I think it adds the perfect touch. Hope you enjoy it and will try and play along with us this week. As always, you may use any image but if you use one by PCC then you will be entered twice for our prize drawing. Stop by and see the other ladies lovely projects. Blessings to you all.

Tag Challenge at Joan's Gardens

Happy Sunday and one hour less day!!! Hope you got some rest because I guess we will need it in the morning. Thankfully it doesn't take long for my internal clock to readjust.

I have a tag to show you this afternoon, I made it last night and had to wait on some better light to take the picture, I don't know about you but I struggle with something this small. I need one of those flower frogs everyone uses for this. At Joan's Gardens she has a tag challenge where you create a tag, anything goes and then starting tonight (yes I am getting it in late) everyone will start voting for their favorite.
There was a few steps to this but I really like how it turned out. I mounted a book page to a piece of Kraft card stock and cut it into a tag shape, which I then used Tim Holtz distress inks and water to age. My image is by Stampin' Up " Happiness Shared"...I stamped 3 times cutting parts of the flowers and leaves, so that I could layer the flower. I also cut a portion of the image before running it through the big shot with my oval die. The lace and ribbon is from my scrap stash and the buttons are GinaK. Hope you like it...I left the back open so that I can write a note to someone. Enjoy the rest of your day and see you tomorrow with Paper Cupcakes.

Paper: GinaK Kraft, book page, watercolor paper
Ink: Tim Holtz Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, Orange Marmalade

Well at The Doodle Pantry Blog this week you can, you just need to create a card using any DP image (don't worry if you don't have any, she has freebies in her store). This is a beautiful set and I can't wait to get it and create something. So, this is my card for the entry using Laurie's image "Stone Wall Garden" which is one of my favorites. A Day for Daises and Girly Girls

I came across a new site to me while surfing the other day called A Day for Daises , it looked interesting to me and  their challenge was to create a girly girl card. They are offering a free digi to use on your card, so I thought why not? I started to use pinks but then decided to go with a yellow theme.
I had made this envelope box last week in the yellow to try out a tutorial for it that was on SCS, I simply finished decorating it with scraps from my card. The sentiment is from a set that I own by Laurie at the Doodle Pantry called Heart Sheep.  I have almost used all of this piece of dp from K&Co that I have loved so much....so sad to see it go! and the last of my plaid ribbon. I hope you will stop by and see this blog....and see what you think about it.

Card Details:
Paper: Stampin' Up So Saffron, dp K&Co, green unk, Bazzill yellow textured
Ink: SU markers, Memento Summer Sky

Sugar Creek Hollow ---Seconds

I entered a card yesterday for the sketch challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow and I decided to come back for seconds. I had printed this image the other day and it was just calling my name and since I pretty much designed it during the night while lying in bed (do you ever do that?) I just had to put it together. The image name is "Vintage Balloon" and I love it!! My Kraft card base has been stamped with images from Stampin' Up Travel Post after first off stamping once to soften the look. I used a piece of K&Co Life's Journey layered on some Bazzill green. I also used a SU Itty Bitty Background to give some dimension to the balloon and then ran it through my Big Shot using a Sizzix Harlequin texture plate. I took a closer photo and hopefully you see the effects of this.

I have a set of Designer Dies by Clear Dollar Stamps that I have been using a lot lately and in this case I used two of them. They work so well.
Let me know what you think and Happy Day to you all.

Card Details:
Paper: GinaK designs Kraft, Bazzill, dp K&Co Life's Journey
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia

Raise The Bar with a Sentiment

I was surfing Renee's blog last week and I came across a challenge site that I had never seen called Raise the Bar where their challenge #56 is "I'm just saying" which is to create something with only a sentiment and not stamped images. I immediately thought of the bible verses that I have from Verve and picked Proverbs 3:5. I need to repeat this one often as I struggle with this daily. I accept all prayers. I am pleased with how this turned out. My card is a 5 1/2 inches square, which I don't do often but am enjoying creating a lot. Now if I just had premade envelopes to match.lol  I love the Memory Box papers that I picked up a couple of months ago. If you have time please check out this site....I saw that Olga has already found it and is playing. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and see my latest. Happy week to you all!

Oh you Lucky Bird!!

"Lucky Bird" is the image that we received on Friday from Designed 2 Delight for participating in her challenge last week and the great news is since it was the first Friday in the month....it is free to you also. You can take part each week by creating something with the free image you receive and every week that you do, you will get another one of Faith's images free. Don't you just love that word!!

Faith also has a separate challenge blog Card Ideas where they have a challenge each Saturday using images from D2D showcased by a talented design team. The challenge this week was to go "Green" and by that they want you to create something using something you have reused or recycled. I had just taken this box in my stamping room last week....it had a piece of jewelry in it at one time from QVC and it was so sturdy that I thought I could use it for something, turns out it is the perfect size to hold a dozen nuggets. I have made nugget boxes in the past but this couldn't have worked any better.
I paper pieced Lucky with dp from Scrapbook Walls and colored him with SU markers. I used a pop dot on his tail to give him some dimension. The cuttlebug folder "Birds and Vines" was perfect with him. I really like how he turned out and will use him at both challenge sites. I hope you will stop by and check out this fun blog.
Here is a look at the side of the box so that you can see the layers.
